Being a photographer myself, I've never really been in front of the camera. Phone camera's are a different story, who hasn't taken a selfie?! Though they are very convenient, to me it's not the same as being behind an actual camera to capture more. It's not that I never wanted anyone or any other photographer to take my own photos but we literally have never had time. Two things, 1. This year- it was due. 2. Beyond excited that one of my close friends of 10 years has recently took a risk and started a company of her own!! We're finally engaged and have yet to get engagement pictures, nor have we taken any recent together with our little fur babies, and not to mention Christmas is just around the corner. So what better way to finally get them all done!
Ten years ago I met Sami. It didn't take long for me to know that she would be one of my best friends. We were constantly always laughing and the amount of things we had in common and loved was ridiculous. The same music, tv shows, movies, books, etc. We had hilarious road trips with our custom made CDs, nights out we won't remember, and photos we'll never forget. See the end for some oldies ;) But as time went on and our lives went different ways, we drifted. We moved, married, kids... we grew up, just like everyone has. Both always keeping in touch with the occasional birthdays, holidays etc. Finally after moving back to Ohio, she's closer and I couldn't be happier. She is one of those friends that you can just pick up where you left off. And we're doing just that. Like me, she also loves taking pictures.
Recently she started Sami Junkins Photography. Loving natural light like I, there was no doubt I knew she would be amazing! She captured what no selfie, or timer could take. She captured the real us. Beyond thankful that she has given us something we love and will treasure always.
This opportunity came at a perfect time, I'll let you know on my next post why. Also to introduce my new favorite photographer, and possibly yours too ;) here are 5 things I know you'll love from Sami herself.
1. A full-time mommy to two beautiful little girls and wife to a wonderful husband.
2. Becoming a photographer has always been a dream of mine and I can't think of anything else I'd rather be doing than capturing the genuine happiness of my clients.
3. I pride myself on being a good listener and a loyal friend.
4. I have a strong faith and relationship with God.
5. I love to read, to get lost in a good story, when I find time.
