My Favorite Romantic Movies!

Who else started 2020 with a full plate and didn't realize January has gone?? February is now here, want to know the only reason I know.... the stores have been pushing chocolates, stuffed toys, cards, and flowers. Unfortunately, Adam and I DO NOT celebrate Valentine's Day for multiple reasons. #1 He doesn't believe that Love in general should only be celebrated one day out of the year. I'm lucky enough to have married a true gentleman. He still opens the doors for me, comes home with flowers a lot (literally my engagement ring is a flower), makes me breakfast on the weekends or ice cream when I don't feel good or had a bad day haha. He always find a way to show or tell me he loves me everyday. BUT... for the hopeless romantics like me who didn't/don't have their Adams yet, we relied on the chick flicks, and the romcoms for love- especially on Valentines's Month. When I was younger I loved this holiday when* I was taken. Anyone else Bridget Jones Diary'd when they were single? Sulked and cried with ice cream while watching romantic movies because I definitely did.

Since we don't celebrate this holiday, we definitely stay in to avoid the crowds. I will gaurantee one of these movies will be on your tv this month. I loved these movies so much, I bought of them over the years so I could watch them any time I want ;) Of course I couldn't leave out any and all Disney princess movies growing up, and Nicholas Sparks movies that are a given: The Notebook, A Walk to Remember, The Last Song, The Longest Ride, The Lucky One, Safe Haven. Outside of these happily ever afters, and best sellers, in no particular order are my favorite romantic movies:

  • A Lot Like Love (2005) Friendship to romance shown in every stage in their lives for these two, always right person wrong time.

  • Something Borrowed (2011) Probably in my top 5, I love a good underdog story. I've been ready for Something Blue!

  • Sixteen Candles (1984) Also in my top 5, it's my favorite John Hughes movie and of course Jake Ryan and MOLLY RINGWALD!

  • 10 Things I Hate About You (1999) But mostly I hate the way I don't hate you, not even close, not even a little bit, not even at all.

  • My Best Friend's Wedding (1997) Early Dermot Mulroney, Julie Roberts AND Cameron Diaz! Also #1 reason I wished for a gay best friend.

  • The Wedding Date (2004) Probably the worst betrayal yet love wins and again Dermot Mulroney.

  • How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days (2003) Who didn't want to be Andie Anderson?!

  • Sweet Home Alabama (2002) So I can kiss you any time I want ;)

  • Sleepless in Seattle (1993) Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan gold- best Valentine's Day movie of all time.

  • To All The Boys I've Loved Before (2018) I was obsessed with PETER KAVINSKY and Lara Jean Covey.

  • Going the Distance (2010) To those who had LDR like Adam and I, relatable.

  • Crazy Rich Asians (2018) Must watch!

  • Under the Tuscun Sun (2003) Top/Best movies to describe- Everything happens for a reason.

  • Love Actually (2003) Love during Christmas!

  • Love and Basketball (2000) All is fair in love and basketball.

  • Ghost ( 1990) Did anyone else want to take up pottery after this movie, or was it just me?

  • Bridget Jone's Diary (2001, 2004 and 2016) Everyone wants a Mr. Darcy!!!

  • Diary of a Mad Black Woman (2005) My first Tyler Perry movie.

  • Leap Year (2010) Fate.

  • You've Got Mail (1998) Another Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan gold.

  • Maid in Manhattan (2002) JLO's Cinderella story.

  • Twilight Saga (2008-2012) #TeamEdward duh.

  • The Proposal (2009) Sandra Bullock dancing in the woods with grandma 🤦🏽‍♀️

  • Never Been Kissed (1999) Why didn't I have a hot teacher like that?!

  • Me Before You (2016) Sooo many tissues! Also Neville Longbottom from Harry Potter is on here haha.

What did you think of my list? We're there any you hadn't seen yet? Is there a movie that should have made the list? What were your favorite romantic movies and why? How do you all celebrate this holiday? Let me know below! Regardless if you or single or taken, I want to wish you all a Happy Valentine's Day this weekend! I hope you all have a great day/night out with your significant other or help yourself and enjoy one of the movies above ;)
