Dining Room Before and After

For as long as I can remember I've always wanted a formal dining room. Growing up with one in our home, I loved having all of our meals together with the family, and just catching up or playing games with friends. Being Filipino, my mom also loves cooking, baking, and hosting A LOT of parties. All of our friends to this day still remember sitting at that dining room eating her amazing food after school, during team meals, and especially during birthday parties. Unfortunately with just Adam, and myself it was never at the top of the priority list when searching for leases. The first time we toured our house, I was following everyone when all of a sudden I hit my head on the very low hanging pendant light while looking at the built in. You could say the potential was there and hit me ;) bahaha. I love the built in and the swinging door! I'm sharing photos below when the house was listed/when we toured. It was a blank slate except for a couple random art on the wall.

Since we bought our home during the pandemic, (and as I've mentioned in my last post) buying furniture either took months and/or were more prone to delays. Good thing I married a Jack of all trades, who actually built our dining room table with just wood, paint, epoxy and metal legs. I wanted to host our first family Christmas in our new home and all l I asked was for the table to seat 10. Again, I like to keep everything minimal and simple so there's not a lot to our dining room. Less is always more for me. AND if you haven't noticed by now, yes I like white. It took me awhile to decide on a new light but I didn't mind. For everything else, Amazon and Ikea never disappoint!
